I’ve been working in BC since graduating as an RT from what is now known as Thompson River’s University in 1986. The first half of my professional lifetime was spent as a frontline critical care therapist working at St. Paul’s Hospital, UBC Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital. Making the transition out of frontline care started in 1998 and I’ve worked in a variety of roles since this time including chief paramedical for UBCH, professional practice leader for Vancouver Acute & professional practice leader for the Provincial Respiratory Outreach Program. In the last year, I’ve transitioned back into a role specific to patient education as CPAP Coordinator for the UBCH Sleep Disorders Program while continuing on as PPL and on call RT for PROP. I completed an undergraduate degree in health sciences in 2004 and most recently an MHS in leadership from Athabasca University. I’ve been active within the BCSRT since 2001 and have participated on forum planning committees and chaired the CTFC from 2003 to 2005. In addition to my president elect duties I am also sitting as the chair of the Regulation Coordinating Committee which is continuing to work with the government with regards to professional regulation.
